Fine round-carved jade owl
Fine round-carved jade owl
This jade owl is made of green jade, the quality of the jade is very good, very smooth! The surface is thick and shiny, and one side has brown infiltration that penetrates the texture.
The Jade Owl looks up at the sky, with round eyes and a hooked beak that connects to the lower jaw to form a hole for ornaments. There is a crest on the top of the head. There are incised feather crests on both sides of the head. The wings are folded, and the claws are stretched forward, as if squatting. The arc-shaped tail feathers hang down and cooperate with the feet to provide support.
The wings of the jade owl are symmetrically decorated with double negative line cloud-thunder patterns, the abdomen is wavy, the tail feathers are also carved with fine negative lines, and the joints are embossed with cirrus patterns.
The overall shape of this jade owl is a typical squatting owl of the Shang Dynasty. It is fully carved, meticulous, with neat lines, and extremely high production standards. The jade is excellent, and it is a rare masterpiece!
