This jade tiger is made of top-grade Hetian white jade. The whole body is amber in color, and some parts are heavily infiltrated and are reddish in color. It has a crystal luster and patina like a gemstone. The jade tiger is in a crouching position, with its back raised upwards, one paw supporting the ground and the other paw raised, ready to pounce, very dynamic. The tiger has wide-open eyes, round ears, puffy cheeks, and a bloody mouth with jagged fangs, looking very ferocious. The twisted tiger tail curls up behind the body and swings. The whole body of the jade tiger is carved with relief cloud ear patterns popular in the Spring and Autumn Period, and a cloud-piercing dragon pattern composed of fine intaglio lines runs through it. There is a taotie beast face pattern carved on the tiger's back. The overall carving craftsmanship is extremely gorgeous, meticulous, and every detail is visible. The shape is vivid, vigorous, majestic and fierce yet agile.
