The surface of this piece of jade ornament is rusted and dark red. On one side of the double-headed phoenix, there is an arc-shaped high crown shaped like a spear, with a triangular front and sharp edges on both sides. On the other side, there is a feather-shaped high crown on the head of the phoenix. The phoenix has round eyes, a hooked beak, and feather patterns are carved in negative lines on the neck and shoulders. The patterns on both sides are the same. There are protruding tenons at the bottom of the jade ornament, which are used to insert it into other objects. Usually such jade ornaments are part of ritual vessels used in sacrifices.
