This jade bird is made of white jade, with orange-red patina all over its body, dark brown patina penetrating into the jade near its head, and traces of soil erosion on the surface.

The jade bird is flat and gliding. It has two round eyes carved with double yin lines, and there is an arrow-shaped feather pattern between the eyes. There is a relief horn-shaped feather crown on the back of the head. The short beak extends forward, and there are two holes drilled on the side of the beak for hanging and wearing. The wings are spread out, and the wings are decorated with double yin squeeze yang hook cloud patterns and thunder patterns. The tail is forked, and there are parallel yin line tail feathers.

The bird has a flat belly and claws represented by symmetrical double-negative line hooks and cloud patterns.

This jade bird ornament is made of fine jade, delicately carved and gorgeously decorated. It uses the representative "double yin squeeze yang" carving method of the Shang Dynasty, and also has the significant "one-sided slope" oblique knife technique of the Western Zhou Dynasty. It is a masterpiece that is very worthy of collection.
