Mercury-stained white jade tiger with inscription
This white jade tiger is made of green and white jade and feels warm and comfortable. The torso is decorated with the typical double yin and yang square rolling cloud pattern of the Shang Dynasty. The back is bulging, the muscles are full and decorated with shield-shaped patterns. There are inscriptions in oracle bone script (bronze script) on both shoulders. The eyes are bent like the word "chen", the ears are erect, and the tiger's mouth is open and roaring. There are traces of tube drilling inside the mouth to represent sharp teeth. There are a pair of holes in the middle of the body for wearing or hanging. There is black patina on the left side of the jade tiger with slight traces of soil bite. The whole body is oily and patinated. The jade tiger is a fierce beast representing military power respected by the Shang people. It can drive away evil spirits.
