Jade Cong-shaped ancient bead necklace
Jade Cong-shaped ancient bead necklace
The exact age of this necklace cannot be confirmed, but it is similar to the style of the Cong-shaped pendants from the Warring States period that I have seen before, so let's assume it is from the Warring States period. The necklace is made up of 25 jade Cong-shaped ancient beads of similar size, each of which is a mini jade Cong. They are round at the top and bottom and square in the middle, and are all solid with holes punched through them.
The material should be some kind of local jade, brownish yellow, with orange-red stains on some beads.
This set of jade congs are wire-cut specimens. Each jade cong has traces of wire cutting and standard drilling holes. Very rare.
The whole necklace weighs nearly 200g, which is quite heavy. It can be taken apart and matched separately. Each jade cong is a beautiful pendant. It is simple and elegant, with a unique charm.
The whole bunch has 25 pieces. The weight of the whole bunch is 195g. Each piece weighs about 7~9g.
The size of a single piece is approximately: 28mm long, 12mm wide
