Based on the shape and carving style, this jade head should have been made in the late Neolithic period to the early Shang Dynasty. The material is a kind of local jade, which is very heavy. It has brown misty patina and weathering patterns. The edges are angular, but they have been polished and will not cut your hands.

The head is in the shape of an inverted trapezoid, with a flat top and no crown. There are holes on the top of the head for hanging accessories.

Thick eyebrows and big eyes are prominent, the nose and cheekbones are higher than the chin. The mouth is carved with a deep intaglio line. The overall facial features are three-dimensional and layered. There are holes on both sides of the huge ears, which can be used to wear earrings.

This jade head is carved in a rough and simple style, and is bold and majestic, similar to the human figures unearthed in Sanxingdui. It is worth collecting and studying.
